Another half dozen tunes uploaded for your listening pleasure, this time i`ve focused on the more Modern
/ Crossover / 70`s stuff
Steve Gutteridge
The O`Jays - No Time For You - Imperial IM66177
My favourite verson of the track by the mighty O`Jays, the other version being by the Commands on the flip side of Hey
It`s Love on Dynamic. Not a rare tune but quite hard to find now, probably need the right venue to play it out, great pleading
male vocal.
O`JAYS - NO TIME FOR YOU
The Mayberry Movement - I Think I`m In Love - Event EV 214
1974 saw the release of this gem, must admit i don`t know if it`s been played much, not heard it. This sort of 70`s stuff
is very much in vogue at the moment
THE MAYBERRY MOVEMENT
J Jocko - I`m Getting Over - Kama Sutra KA 600
One of my current faves at the moment, single taken from the album "Thats The Song" 1975. LP goes for £20-£30 much tougher
on 45 release, unsual vocal on a great driving baseline.
J.JOCKO - I`M GETTIN` OVER
Bobby Womack - Daylight - United Artists UA-XW763-Y
£5 to £10 will get you this 1975 choon, recentley re-worked by ex Destinys Child member Kelly Rowland, not a bad version
actually. Bobbys unique vocals take some beating though.
BOBBY WOMACK - DAYLIGHT
Jackie Wilson - It Only Happens When I Look At You - Brunswick BR 43
On most DJ`s playlists around the soul club scene, UK only from 1977, what can you say about the late Jakie Wilsons legendary
vocal talent. Click the soundclip link and enjoy
JACKIE WILSON - IT ONLY HAPPENS
Vessie Simmons - I Can`t Make It On My Own - Simco SC 62466
Great uptempo soul just ready for re-activation again, i think this was a Mecca spin for Colin Curtis / Ian Levine back
in the good old days.
VESSIE SIMMONS - I CAN`T MAKE IT

Gloria Scott - What Am I Gonna Do - Casablanca NEB 0005
Remember "Too much love making" from a few years back, this up there with that track in my opinion, Title track from
the album that contained "Lovemaking". Pure quality, if it`s not uptempo enough for your soul nite` play it as an ender.
GLORIA SCOTT - WHAT AM I GONNA DO
Brewster Crew - I`m One Who Know - Lifeline LC 002
1974 once again for this odly titled tune, once again an in vogue style of tune. I know this one has had a few spins
around the country, but not in the East Midlands so much, bring it on.
BREWSTER CREW - I`M ONE WHO KNOW
